I use quotes there because in all honesty it's not THAT big of a deal. I'm hanging up my K945 headphones and walking 10 feet down the hall to start doing a show on one of our sister stations.

That being said, please, allow me an opportunity to reminisce.

2015 marks my 25th year in radio. I started when I was 10 years old at a SUPER small station here in Shreveport. I 'paid my dues' for a long, long time. I've worked on just about every single station on the dial in Shreveport. However, my longest tenure on any has been as the night / midday host on K945 as I started here in 2003.

Along the way I've met some cool people like Ashton Kutcher, Britney Spears, and Kelly Rowland to name a few. I've given away really cool prizes trips all over the globe, cash, more tickets to more concerts than I could ever hope to count. I've played a billion songs (I'm sure), had lots of laughs, and goofed up TONS of names (I called Donnie Wallburg "Mark" [got confused who I was talking to], and Nick 'Lacky' Lachey come to mind.

You know, if I could go back and relive the past 12 years I wouldn't change a thing I've done professionally.

Wait, scratch that I would change the fact that I slept through a school assembly at Elm Grove elementary in 2004. True story, I stayed up till 4 in the morning writing a speech that I was supposed to give at 8am. I should have woke up at 6:45 to leave to be there on time as it was an hour drive from where I lived then. Seeing as how I woke up at 8:15, well, lets just say I got into a LOT of trouble with my boss.

Looking back, I should have gone to sleep before 2 am, then WOKEN UP, drove to the school, walked in, grabbed the microphone and said "Hey kids! I'm Stifler from K945, I'm best friends with Britney Spears and the Jonas Brothers!" Then threw out a bunch of prizes at the kids then, went home and back to sleep. Elementary school kids don't REALLY care what you say, and my speech was long (and boring).

Live and learn I suppose.

Anyway over the past 12 years I've done some silly bits; from the shout outs at night "Famous Last Words", to giving away tattoo gift certificates with the game "What's in my pants" (I still don't understand why I gave out tattoos, but whatever), to going old school the "Back in the Day Buffet" I've had a lot of fun on K945.

It's been a really fun run, but the time has come for me to ease over to our sister station, KVKI to become Stifler 'in the Night-time' again.

That being said, don't be surprised if you hear me on K945 now and then, I might be able to sneak in the studio from time to time to talk with whoever is on, about whatever is happening that day.

Anyway, I've gone on WAY too long here. To answer the most common questions I've gotten since the announcement:

Are you okay with this? Yes, yes I am. I suggested it earlier this year.
Are you happy? Yes, yes I am.

Heart,
Stifler
