Pony Club was one of the organizations I was involved with as a kid and I have fond memories. Not only does it give horse enthusiasts a chance to fellowship, it teaches horsemanship, stable management and, most of all, responsibility!
Last week, I was fortunate enough to take some time off and meet some of my girlfriends from all over the country at the Rolex 3 Day Event in Lexington, KY to cheer on our mutual friend and coach Julie Norman as she competed for her very first time!
This is simply incredible! As a life long horse person, I know for a fact none of mine would have ever dealt this well with the crowds on Bourbon Street, especially during the madness that is Mardi Gras.
Big congratulations go out to my friend and trainer, Julie Norman. Not only is she one of the hardest working women in the equestrian world today, she has now qualified for the Rolex Three Day Event in Lexington, KY
For as long as I've been involved in the horse show world of Northwest Louisiana, Katheryn and Bill McFadden have held the K9 Search and Rescue Benefit Show at Holly Hill Farm in Benton, LA Labor Day weekend with the help of their many friends and dedicated volunteers.
In the stadium jumping portion of three day eventing, you can continue, if you don't have a fall. A fall consists of a rider making contact with the ground. Check out what happened to Rick Wallace of Team Wallace Eventing at the Chattahoochee Hills Horse Trials.
