I think 99.5%  of K945 listeners know who Bonnie and Clyde are if for nothing else because of the 'trade days'. Though I'm not sure how the Arklatex's OG's robbing spree turned into a day to go garage selling, but who am I to judge?

Well today was the day they died.  And here's the story from the New York Times to prove it!

Shreveport, La., May 23 -- Clyde Barrow, notorious Texas "bad man" and murderer, and his cigar-smoking, quick-shooting woman accomplice, Bonnie Parker, were ambushed and shot to death today in an encounter with Texas Rangers and Sheriff's deputies.

The 24-year-old desperado, who was accused of twelve murders in the last two years, and his companion whizzed along a little-traveled, paved road near Gibsland, about fifty miles east of here, at eighty-five miles an hour in a high-speed gray automobile, rushing into a carefully-laid death trap.

I'm impressed ... 85 mph? I thought cars only went 25 miles per hour back then.  Side note Clyde was 24 ... I had no idea.

I know some old people who knew stories and knew someone who knew someone who had dealings with these guys. If I remember the story right ... B&C would rob a bank ... then go to their hideout and would give money to folks around them to help out. And they would keep their mouths closed to the police.

Hard times were hard.
