Saying that Shreveport has a lot of music history is like saying the ocean has a lot of water.  Sure, it's technically correct - but it really doesn't do it any justice.  The Ratchet City's past filled to the brim with some of the greatest moments in American music history, and you might just drive past a venue or a street corner that plays a vital part in the story of how the music we love today was formed.

Regardless of the genre of jam you like, it has most certainly been influenced by this region and some of the incredible talent that has passed through here.  If an incredible moment didn't happen here with your favorite artist, you can bet that it did with one of their influences.  That's the thing we're really celebrating here:  The fact that Shreveport changes you, and those changes have altered the course of music for the whole world.

A word of caution before we start: There's no way there could ever be a complete list.  I have researched and researched, but the nature of this particular beast dictates that there just has to be a few hidden gems I've missed.  With an area as rich and musical as Shreveport and the surrounding areas are, there's bound to be something I missed.  Don't be afraid to let me know, I'd love to add it to the list!
