10 Year Old Donates Stuffed Animals To Bossier Sheriff’s Department
First of all I can't speak highly enough of the Bossier Sheriff Department after working with them for Operation Santa Claus and seeing all they do throughout the year building their relationship with the community they truly are a special group. Julianna Gouthiere, her father, Joe, and her 11-year-old brother Joey showed today just how much the community sees what is being done and appreciates them! The donated 150 brand new stuffed animals to the department.
Now the animals are not to keep the officers company but for them to use during incidents involving young children to help the cope with whats going on. Julianna says the idea came to her after heard about her own mother receiving a stuffed animal after she was in a motorcycle accident with her dad when she was a child. So far Julianna has donated more than 12,000 stuffed animals to officers in over six states.
The Sheriff's Department posted on Facebook that "Sheriff Whittington also offered up the Viking Drive Substation as a drop-off point for those who may want to donate new or slightly-used stuffed animals for Bear Share."
