5 Fall Activities You Must Do in Shreveport-Bossier
Add these things to your to-do list to really rake up the fall season.
The fall season is such a heartwarming time of year. I love how nostalgic fall feels for me. I love reminiscing on pumpkin patch memories as a kid as well as football games in high school and college, and even creating new memories and traditions with my family now. Since I don't have kids, this mostly means dragging my husband and dog with me to pumpkin patches and farmers markets to take photos for the 'gram.
Here are five things you should do this fall in Shreveport-Bossier:
1. Big Fall Events
Our area is loaded with great events in the fall season like Prize Fest and Red River Revel. Although those will be ending this weekend, there are others to look forward to like the State Fair of Louisiana. This year the fair will kick off October 24.
2. DixieMaze Farms
Looking for that classic pumpkin patch experience? DixieMaze Farms is a great place to pick out the perfect pumpkin to carve or decorate. There's also a corn maze which is a great fall activities for whole family or just you and your sweetie.
3. Farmers/Makers Market
Although these are specific to the fall season, a fall farmers market or makers fair are perfect for browsing on a cool fall day. I love to grab a cup of coffee and just wander the aisles. Who knows, you could find something perfect to gift someone this Christmas.
4. Fall Inspired Coffee on the Patio at Rhino Coffee
Rhino Coffee is a great place to get your pumpkin, or other seasonal flavor, fix and both locations have great patio areas. Why not get lost in a good book with a cup of Joe? Oh, and did I mention you can add a shot of Kahlua to your latte?
5. Stroll the Red River
Once the weather cools off, I want nothing more than to be outside. Strolling Arthur Ray Teague or Clyde Fant with the family or your dog is a great way to enjoy fall. And just wait until those leaves start to change colors.
