When it comes to things to do, the Shreveport-Bossier City area is teeming with great ideas!  You want live music?  We got it!  Dancing, gambling, fishing - there's hardly a popular activity we don't have an awesome outlet for!  We're no slouch in the family fun department, either.  From go-kart tracks to alligator parks - we've got it all!

With all of this fun at our fingertips, you might be tempted to overlook one of the oldest and best ways to burn up a Saturday night with the kids - bowling!  When it comes to knocking down pins with the family - we've got one of the absolute best alleys around.  I can't say enough good things about Holiday Lanes in Bossier City, but here's one more to add to the list - it's the absolute oldest bowling alley still in operation in the entire state of Louisiana!

According to Biz Mag, Holiday Lanes first opened its doors back in 1960 - and has been operation ever since!  That's 61 years of bringing the sheer joy of a strike to our neck of the woods.  If you've been inside, it's hard to believe that the incredibly modern alley is an honest-to-goodness Louisiana historical treasure.

To make this gem of Bossier even cooler, Holiday Lanes is still operated by the same family that started it!  The founder, Don S. Coleman, instructed his family to keep the business in the family - and it is to this day!  It even has an official Louisiana historical marker!

If you fancy a game, you can probably find me and the family there pretty much every weekend.  I'll be the bald guy desperately trying to break 100, and just so you know: The gutter-bumpers are for the kids, I just don't bother to take them down during my turn.
