Our thoughts and prayers are with these 56 brave soldiers!

Here in Shreveport, surrounded by military, I know all of us can join in solidarity to show our love and appreciation for over 56 Louisiana National Guard soldiers who are currently flying to Afghanistan.

Their journey to Afghanistan for these brave soldiers began earlier today as they boarded a plane in Pineville, with their destination being right in the heart of the action.

The troops will join two companies to provide aviation support.

Colonel Ed Bush of the Louisiana National Guard says the aviation support will bring the Bayou State’s troops to the heart of the action.

“Essentially they are a Blackhawk Medevac unit. They support the area, they will fly in and Medevac as needed to places where it is safe.”

God bless our soldiers all over the world, and God bless these 56 brave men and women!
