This has been one of the most tiring weeks of my life. I am exhausted, mentally, physically, this week proved I may not be as strong as I thought I was. I navigated the week with 3 people who I couldn't have made it without.

First, Greer the Engineer, I can't put into words what a lifesaver he is. He brought us water, he made sure all of our radio stations were on the air, he spent a lot of time away from his family making sure we didn't fall apart.

Robert and Erin from 101.7/710 KEEL, thank you for the laughter. I can't put into words how much joy you guys brought to the table when we were all running off minimal sleep and all we wanted was a hot meal and a shower. Thank you for showing me the importance of always putting listeners first to keep them informed and safe during a scary time.

Mother Nature reminded Shreveport-Bossier she is unpredictable and she calls the shots, sorry Barksdale Bubble. When I got the call on Sunday to head to a hotel to be near the station I brought enough clothes to last me maybe three to four days. Let me just say, I regret my lack of preparedness.

After five days of no running water, a few days without power, and no showers, I have learned a few things, I hope this never happens to me again, however, if it does, I want to be prepared. Here are my 8 big takeaways from this week trapped at work with unreliable power and no running water.
