The State of Louisiana continues to take drastic moves to combat the COVID-19 outbreak. Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards has made moves to limit group sizes across the state, closed casinos, bars, gyms, and limiting restaurants to take out orders only.

Since those moves have been made, many Louisiana residents have asked how legal these moves are. Questioning the extent of the powers granted to the Governor when he declares a State of Emergency. Today, Governor Edwards political rival, Attorney General Jeff Landry attended a press conference with Edwards to clear up questions about the powers granted to the Governor.

Landry made it clear that the Governor does, in fact, have the power to take these steps. Such as closing casinos, bars, and limiting gatherings.
