Baton Rouge Native Will Have Clothing Line in Target Stores
This is one of those success stories that I am so thrilled to share. The star of this story is a graduate of Baton Rouge Magnet High School which is my Alma Mater.
You probably don't yet know the name Christopher John Rogers, but you will learn about him soon enough. He is a fashion designer who is originally from Baton Rouge. He's a fellow Bulldog. But I walked those historic halls many years before him.
So many great success stories have come from that remarkable school and this is the latest triumph. Rogers has already designed clothing for some big shots. In fact, he designed the suit Vice President Kamala Harris wore when she was sworn in on January 20th. He has also designed garments for Beyonce, Lizzo and many others.
Rogers who lives in Brooklyn told WAFB: “When I got here I actually met a lot of people who are from Louisiana who were either makeup artists or hair stylists or worked in different parts of the fashion industry, People usually don’t know what to think so I’m always like ‘It’s just a really big small town’ to me."
