Earlier this year, I chronicled the beginning of my journey to get the best looking, permanent reminder of Deacon's childhood.  See part one here.  With the help of Corey from Pens and Needles in Bossier City, my dream has become a reality.  Please understand how important this tattoo is to me, then you will understand me when I say Corey was picked for one reason only.  After researching dozens of tattoo artists and looking a tons of studios in the Shreveport / Bossier City area - Corey was the only man I trusted to pull off something as important as this.

Deacon (my 8-year old son) and I have bonded over many things, but no connection has been stronger than the one we forged over playing.  More specifically, playing with toys.  The toy that really stood out among all others is Optimus Prime - leader of the Autobots in Transformers.  I was (and still am to be honest) a major fanboy, and the boy matches my fanaticism exactly.  We played so much, I started learning how to imitate the voices of some of the different transformers.  My Optimus is pretty legit, if I do say so myself.  I also had to learn and make up quite a few other voices, like "Rupert" the bear.

Brandon Michael - TSM Of course he has a British accent.

This is why Mr. Prime is so important to me - he's a symbol of a period in our lives I will cherish forever.  He might outgrow these things, but two things are very apparent:

1.  I won't outgrow it, that much has already been proven.

2. I won't ever forget it, and now I have a very powerful reminder.
