For many Shreveport locals, a Buc-ee's stop is always a part of any road trip out of town. With Ruston slated to introduce another Buc-ee's location to the I-20 corridor, it could completely ruin the magic of our road trip tradition. Will a new location so close to Shreveport be the end of the cherished Buc-ee's trip?

The Buc-ee's in Terrell, Texas, is a well-known spot for any 318 travelers headed to Dallas. Sitting right off of I-20 outside of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro, it's a perfect spot for anybody to refill on a road trip, only a little over 2 hours out from the SBC. Without any Buc-ee's in Louisiana up to this point, any road trip meant a Buc-ee's trip was a magical moment (as long as you aren't headed to Arkansas).

When it was announced that Buc-ee's would finally break ground in the Bayou State, many rejoiced, realizing almost any road trip that touches I-20 is an excuse for a Buc-ee's stop. But that excuse for a Buc-ee's trip might be exactly what kills the magic of a Buc-ee's trip. Buc-ee's should be a sacred and special thing, enjoying the endless gas pumps, giant selection of drinks, snacks, and meats.

Anyone who travels the I-20 corridor through Ruston will soon have instant access to one of capitalism's greatest monuments, which may turn a special moment into a normal trip to the gas station. At the end of the day, it's not a bad thing that Buc-ee's is coming, and I'm not complaining about getting beaver nuggets more often, but just concerned the magic will be lost if we don't appreciate good things in moderation.
