Jordan Davis and Kix Brooks Just Teamed Up to Change Music in Shreveport Forever
The Louisiana Grandstand is an iconic Shreveport music venue, and today it made a major announcement that’s bound to get every music fan in the state excited. Tapping into the legacy of legends who got their start right here in the Ark-La-Tex, The Louisiana Grandstand has officially launched its 2025 Artist Ambassador Program, and they’ve got some serious star power for the inaugural year.
The Louisiana Grandstand continues a deep-rooted musical tradition in Shreveport, echoing the cultural influence of the legendary Louisiana Hayride, the radio show that launched icons like Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash. Rather than replicating the Hayride, the Grandstand builds on its spirit, creating a premier listening venue that focuses on storytelling, songwriting, and live musicianship. They have also made a serious commitment to fostering local talent by requiring any major act to allow a local Shreveport musician to act as the show opener. The Grandstand further supports homegrown artists by giving them access to their on-site recording studio.
This philosophy is the foundation of their new Artist Ambassador Program. The year-long mentorship program will pair an established artist with a burgeoning local musician. The mentees will be selected by a board of music industry experts, and they'll get to work directly with their mentor throughout the year.
Launching this program with two hometown legends feels like a true homecoming. Shreveport native Kix Brooks, one-half of the iconic duo Brooks & Dunn, and current country hitmaker Jordan Davis, will be the program’s first-ever mentors. It’s the perfect way to build a bridge between the giants who've already made their mark and the artists just beginning their journey.
Grandstand Co-owner Stephen Gillum says this mission is personal, rooted in his own family's history. He believes the spirit of discovery and risk-taking lives on in everything they're doing. As for Jordan Davis, he shared that he is "honored to be part of the program's inaugural year, and proud to play a part in ushering in the next generation of musical talent from my home state."
Kix Brooks added that as a Bossier native, he understands the importance of local venues. He said, "I'm honored to join fellow native Jordan Davis in the first year of the Artist Ambassador Program."
The Louisiana Grandstand isn't just preserving music history; it’s actively shaping the next generation. This program will amplify local voices that deserve to be heard, and we can't wait to see where it goes. More information about the program will be announced in the coming weeks.
