Since we are all about cancel culture these days I figured "why not jump on the bandwagon"?

Remember when we found out in late 2018 that we couldn't enjoy the song "Baby It's Cold Outside" because it encouraged "date rape" and "sexual harassment"? Many radio stations across America made the move to remove the song from their Christmas music selection and John Legend and Kelly Clarkson even came out with modified lyrics.

According to Rolling Stone, the now-canceled song was "Composed in 1944, Loesser originally wrote “Baby, It's Cold Outside” as a playful call-and-response duet for him and his wife to perform at their housewarming party while their guests were preparing to bid them goodnight."

So if a song like "Baby It's Cold Outside" can be canceled, and we are all about Cancel Culture these days why not make a case for the worst Christmas song of all time?

Now is a good time to make a cancellation happen right?

"The Christmas Shoes" Is the Worst Christmas Song of All Time.

In case the video doesn't spell it out for you the song is about a boy needing new shoes for his dying mother.

"Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my mama, please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry, sir, daddy says there's not much time
You see she's been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes would make her smile
And I want her to look beautiful if mama meets Jesus tonight"

Before you come at me and start defending this atrocious song, you need to understand I lost my mother 3 days before Christmas. I was only 12 at the time and now, it's been 17 straight years of pure hell every time this song comes on.

Have you ever wanted to smash your radio in when a song comes on? This song does it for me every single time.

Who wants to be reminded of a dead parent when you're trying to get in the spirit of Christmas? Yes, I get it, we should remember those we have lost during the holidays, but who wants to be singing "All I Want For Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey when the next song that comes on is "The Christmas Shoes".

What if you still have both parents alive and well during Christmas time? Do you really want a horrid song to bring your Christmas holly jolly spirit sown?

I would like us all to move forward and cancel the worst Christmas song ever written. If angry people succeeded with "Baby It's Cold Outside" why can't we with "The Christmas Shoes"?
