Next week is shaping up to be a big one for music lovers in the SBC.

With Louisiana nearing the doorsteps of a full-blown re-opening, things are finally starting to feel a little more normal for us. As a lifelong Shreveporter, I can say two things make up the normalcy of our area. Crawfish and live music.

Of course, many other things make up the fabric of our community's "normal", but for me, those two are at the top of the list. With every day that passes, Louisiana and Shreveport gets closer to returning to what life was like prior to the pandemic. This Memorial Day weekend, one of our all-time favorite Shreveport-Bossier events will make it's triumphant return. Of course, that's Mudbug Madness.

So crawfish is officially back. Now, let's turn to live music.

The Stage has actually been putting on live shows every Thursday evening for the past few weeks. Next week, they'll present one heck of a live show featuring two awesome acts.

This show will be the very first of it's kind for our hometown guy Garrett Jacobs.

Garrett's career has skyrocketed since his initial appearance on American Idol several years ago. Now, he's one of the rising stars of country music. Next Friday, in his hometown, he's perform at his first ever hometown show. Landry & Company will be opening for him, and they are wonderful as well.

I'm excited on a personal level, not just because I love Garrett like a brother, but also I will be hosting the show. For me, it will be the first concert I've hosted since the pandemic, and that is exciting as it wasn't too long ago where I thought we'd never get back top this level of normalcy.

Don't miss Garrett Jacobs with Landry and Company next Friday night, April 2nd, at The Stage in Bossier City!
