Final ‘American Idol’ Champ Crowned

It came down to Trent Harmon and La'Porsha Renae on the final episode of American Idol Thursday. So how'd it play out?

After a closely-contested race, it was Trent who came out on top with his soulful treatment of such classic rock tunes as "Sharp Dressed Man" and "Simple Man".

When his name was announced as the winner, he hugged La'Porsha and shouted, "It's God's will!"

Through tears, he said, "I worked so hard ... and she pushed me to do it," referring to his competitor.

He then performed his new single, "Falling", as confetti rained from the ceiling.

An emotional Ryan Seacrest concluded the proceedings with a cryptic, "Goodnight, for now." Wonder what that implies...
