A Bossier City Favorite is Closing, But a New BBQ Spot Is Taking Its Place
If you've driven down Bossier's Airline Drive lately, you've likely noticed some serious construction happening next to Andy's Frozen Custard. For years, The Flying Burger and Seafood has been a go-to spot for North Bossier residents. It was one of the few places where you could get a truly delicious burger that tasted like it came from a dedicated burger joint, alongside fresh seafood, all in a casual, comfortable setting. The diner always seemed to be buzzing with activity, so it came as a surprise to many when The Flying Burger officially closed its doors.

But with one door closing, another is set to open. The Flying Burger's building is currently being gutted and remodeled for a brand-new concept. Bossier is about to get its very first Smokehouse Market. While the name and logo are the only clues we have right now, it’s safe to assume that a new barbecue joint is joining the lineup on Airline Drive.
A sign on the door thanks the loyal patrons of The Flying Burger and announces the exciting new dining experience.
The message reads: "Big news! After years of serving our wonderful community, The Flying Burger and Seafood is transforming! We're thrilled to announce that we will be reopening as an exciting new dining experience - Smokehouse Market! A heartfelt thank you for your unwavering support, cherished memories, and countless meals shared with us over the years. It has truly been a privilege to serve you! We look forward to welcoming you back this fall with delicious new flavors! With Excitement, The Smokehouse Market Team."
While the announcement promises new flavors this fall, an official opening date has not yet been set. You can find the new eatery at the former Flying Burger location at 3127 Airline Dr in Bossier City.
What kind of food are you hoping to see from the new Smokehouse Market?
