With possibly the biggest and most important presidential election in our lifetimes just over a month away, a surge of new voters are rushing to get registered.  We've already seen a flood of public service announcements, ads, neighborhood canvassing efforts and more pushing people to get prepared to cast their vote.

In an effort to get young voters to the polls, Foot Locker partnered with Rock the Vote and converted each and every one of their 2,000+ stores across the United States into temporary voter registration sites - including the location in Shreveport's Mall St. Vincent.  According to the Ark-La-Tex Homepage, the initiative kicked off this week with in-store digital kiosks that will step you through the entire process.  Voters (both new and seasoned) will be to register, check their status, and set up election reminders.

Since the parent company (the Venator Group) operates Kids Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, Champs Sports and Footaction as well - these locations will also serve as voter registration sites.

According to the press release from Foot Locker's Chairman & CEO Richard Johnson:

"In a year marked with such uncertainty, amid a pandemic and social unrest, our country’s future – and our collective role in shaping it – has never been more important.   At Foot Locker, our mission is to inspire and empower youth culture, so partnering with Rock The Vote was a natural fit to help educate and amplify the voices of today’s youth.”
