I get by with a little help from my rowdy friends.

Broken Bow, Oklahoma is only 2 1/2 hours away. I actually enjoyed the drive to Big Foot territory. It's crazy to think that just a short drive can completely change the scenery around you and most importantly your headspace.

I am a true believer that you should grab your favorite people and head up to Broken Bow for a weekend to reset. Normally you'll see people list off places to go and experience. The truth is, we tried that and it wasn't for us.

We walked into multiple places to try to eat and we even tried to go out and hit the local bars. We had zero luck, most food places were packed and the bars were completely empty. We found that spending time in the cabin made for the BEST time. I guess it really is all about who you surround yourself with.

Here are my top 5 reasons why you and your crew need to book a cabin and head out to Big Foot territory:

1. A change of scenery is going to help you mentally.

Sometimes you just need to get out. Broken Bow is the perfect drive. Not too far but just far enough. The lack of cell phone service forces you to take time away from your cell phone which I needed.

2. The water is just fine.

Maybe you want to take a kayak down the river? Maybe you want to sit on the river bank and enjoy the view. Dip your toes in the river water gospel.

3. You can be a kid again.

We opted to float down the river and laughed and got a tan. This probably was the best part of the trip. We just floated on down, if we got too hot we just splashed water on each other. It was awesome.

4. The cabins are all influencing us to just relax.

Isn't it a beautiful sight? The hot tub and the backyard kitchen are basically inviting you to stay in.

5. You get to spend time with your favorite people.

We all get so caught up in the hectic day-to-day lifestyle that we forget to take time to spend it with those we love most. This past weekend reminded me why a good group of friends is essential to any fun weekend.
