Horse Shows Are What I Call A Successful Vacation [VIDEO]
Oh my! You never know until you get back how much you truly need a vacation. You feel refreshed and ready to take on tasks/situations that previous annoyed the 'mess' out of you! With that being said, I did hate not being in the building this past week for Hurricane Isaac. It's almost like you feel like you're abandoning your co-workers and your listeners. Thankfully, we didn't see nearly the damage we could have. Regardless, I'm glad the weather pretty much passed us by in the SBC because I took the time off so I could participate in the 10th Annual K9 Search and Rescue Benefit Horse Show this past weekend at Holly Hill Farm in Benton. It featured hunters, jumpers and dressage and we brought three horses to compete. First off, remind me to never again bring three horses to a show. It's exhausting! I can't complain though! They were all FABULOUS! My little man, Under Pressure, flew through Intro tests A and B with ease and my big boy, Paisano, rocked out Training tests 2 and 3 which qualified us for the year end Tri State Dressage Society Championships with THE Sally O'Connor! Pretty heady stuff, right? Plus, we brought my mother's Azteca mare, Sunny aka Sunrise. It was her first show experience ever and she was amazing! She did great over fences and rocked 2nd place in the under saddle portion of the Hunter show on Saturday. She also posted some great scores with our trainer Julie Norman Sunday in dressage.
