‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Makes Major Box Office Debut
The "Hunger Games" sequel "Catching Fire" torched the competition at the box office this weekend with a whopping $161.1 million opening, barely beating out the original which took in $152 million last March.
Last week's No. 1, "Thor: The Dark World", fell to second place with $14.1 million, and "The Best Man Holiday" dropped down a notch to third with $12.5 million. Vince Vaughn's "Delivery Man" debuted in fourth place with a disappointing $8.2 million, while the animated family film "Free Birds" rounded out the top five with an estimated $5.3 million.
