The 2nd & Charles on Airline Drive in Bossier City has been a hub for all sorts of unique finds, and at one point, it was the center of a thriving community. However, the store has recently had a huge inventory reduction, leaving entire sections completely bare. With the major announcement from 2nd & Charles' parent company, could it mean our favorite secondhand store says goodbye?

How 2nd & Charles Changes (Then Did it Again)

Some will remember a little over a decade ago when the 2nd & Charles on Airline was a Books-A-Million store. It was around 2014 when the store was renovated into the multimedia buy-and-sell concept we've come to know and love. Around that time, a community was growing with the store hosting gaming tournaments, even going out to Geek'd Con with their massive gaming selection.

Sometime before 2020, a shift happened with the store, and the retro gaming inventory was cut, tournaments stopped, and events in general just came to an end. From mini anime-festivals, Smash Bros Tournaments, and author signings, it all vanished during 2020, but it never came back.

Is 2NC Facing Closure?

Books-A-Million confirmed that a location will be returning to Bossier City, though not replacing the 2nd & Charles location like it did to Books-A-Million in 2014. In the weeks following the announcement, 2nd & Charles' inventory has noticeably changed, t-shirts have been taken down, lots of collectibles thrown into the clearance bin, and the once coveted video gaming section is completely gone.

Could these changes mean that our beloved 2nd & Charles is about to close up shop? If so, it will be a major disappointment to local collectors, even though the store shifted away from what many flocked to it for in the first place, it still has a place in the heart of Bossier City.
