While everyone was still buzzing about the release of Kendrick Lamar's stellar new album, Damn, some people were in full on speculation mode. Basically, they think that Kendrick has another album coming soon. As in this weekend soon, and that the name of the album is Nation. Get it? Damn... Nation?

While it's all guess-work at this point, it sort of makes sense given that K.Dot himself told The New York Style Magazine that his new project will be about God back in March.

"We’re in a time where we exclude one major component out of this whole thing called life: God," he said. "Nobody speaks on it because it’s almost in conflict with what’s going on in the world when you talk about politics and government and the system.”

As we pointed out earlier, one especially exuberant fan put together a full-on investigative report. It gets a little... um, deep.

Okay, so that breakdown is a little bit over-the-top, but it seems feasible at least, especially given a few things that the musicians who worked closely with Kendrick on the project have said. As Okayplayer points out, first, there's Kendrick's longtime producer Sounwave who insinuated Damn is not the "official version."

Then, Moosa, CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith’s son, tweeted:

Cardo, who has production credits on several Kendrick songs, and worked on this project as well, said that fans do not "have a clue" about what's going on but indicated he's not saying anything. Well, except to point out that he has a secret the general public isn't in on.

After that, we went looking for other contributors to the album and found that singer Anna Wise tweeted this. The thing is, she's barely on Damn, only on background vocals on "Pride." Go-go gadget speculation!

While Terrace Martin, who last year talked openly about how innovative Kendrick's new project would be, didn't leave any cryptic Scooby Doo clues, one fan pointed out that something "interesting' was happening with Kendrick's streaming pages. Shortly after Damn was released, it looked as though TDE was possibly promoting another album.

So what's the word? Is K.Dot dropping another album this weekend? We're in the era of dramatic, creative surprise releases—from Beyoncé to Frank Ocean to Future, most recently, who just made history as the first artist to have consecutive back-to-back #1 albums with Future and HNDRXX.

At any rate, we'll know soon if Kendrick has more up his sleeve. We're leaning toward, probably. In addition to the current wave of creative releases and subliminal hints, he is a gemini who consistently talks about his double-sided nature, so there's that too. We'll wait and see how this plays out. In the meantime, stream his album below.
