New Sam’s Club Opening in Texas with No Checkout Lanes
The future is here in Texas! We all hear about new technology all the time right now, so much of it having to do with Artificial Intelligence (AI). But there are new technological improvements being made around us all the time, and soon it will be changing the way we do our shopping.
According to an article from KXAN, Sam’s Club is going to be opening a new location in Grapevine, Texas. But this store will be different as it won’t have any checkout lanes.
How Will Texans Purchase Items?
It’s simple as you walk around the store deciding which items you want to purchase; you scan the items you want as you put them into your buggy. They have a simple Scan and Go app that simplifies this process.
The company reports that the Scan & Go app is already very popular with shoppers as one in three already use it within their clubs.
No Check Out Lanes Means More Room for Products
The extra room in the club will be utilized to showcase more products for shoppers. It will also help employees have room to set up more online orders.
Sam’s Club has already introduced new technology this year that allows customers to leave without having to have their receipt checked.
The company did say that there will be no change in the number of workers at the store, but some could check their role within the company.
Are you excited about going to the store without having to worry about checking out? Or would you prefer that it says the old way that we’re all used to at this point?
