Jamie Lynn Spears to Play in Charity Softball Game at ULM

Got plans for Saturday September 21st? You do now. Because there's a celebrity softball game happening in Monroe that you should be a part of.

The game is happening with the University of Louisiana - Monroe Softball program. Its set for Saturday night, starting at 6:30pm at the ULM Softball Complex. It will feature a ton of incredible softball names, including National Champions, Olympians, record setters, and Team USA members. You can buy tickets here.

But maybe the biggest celebrity involved is actress and singer Jamie Lynn Spears. Who may not be a softball player herself, but her daughter Maddie is a high school star in Louisiana. According to social media posts, Maddie is the one training Jamie Lynn right now:

Jamie Lynn currently stars in the Netflix series Sweet Magnolias, but is probably best known from her Nickelodeon show Zoey 101, which ran from 2005 to 2008, and had a resurgence in 2023 with a Paramount film Zoey 102. She also had a singing career, releasing the EP "The Journey" in 2014. Which featured the single "How Could I Want More", a song that reached the Top 30 on the US Country charts. She also released 3 music videos.

She also competed on the shows I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, and Dancing With the Stars.

Her awards include 2 Kids' Choice Awards, 2 Young Artist Awards, and a Gracie Award.

Now, she will be competing in the ULM Softball Team Celebrity Game. General Admission tickets are $40, and you get sign up for a ticket AND post-game autographs for $60. Other celebrity game players include Lauren Haeger, who is a two-time National Champion at Florida. She was the 2015 USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year, 2015 SEC Female Athlete of the Year, and the only Division 1 player to reach 70 home runs and 70 pitching wins.

Former LSU star, and Team USA member, Taylor Pleasants will also be playing. In her Team USA career, she won a Gold Medal in the 2022 World Games and the 2019 WBSC U-19 Softball World Cup. At LSU she was named to multiple All-SEC and SEC All-Defensive Teams.

Tori Vidales will also be playing, which brings some Olympic credentials to the game. She played for Team Mexico in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She was a 2 time All American at Texas A&M, and currently works for the SEC Network.

This game is shaping up to be a fun night for sports fans. Even if you're not a huge softball fan, there are a lot of big names in this, and its going to be a great night in Monroe.
