Mardi Gras season in Sheveport-Bossier is about to hit full stride starting this weekend. Two of the premiere parades in town will be rolling, with two more coming next weekend. Kicking off this first major weekend of Mardi Gras will be the Krewe of Centaur Float Loading Party.

The party starts at 6pm, with a special VIP program at 5pm. You can get all the timing details here. It takes place at the Krewe's den on Aero Drive in Shreveport (corner of North Market and Aero Drive).

This event is open to the public, and welcomes in hundreds of Mardi Gras revelers to get up close and personal with the Krewe of Centaur floats and Krewe members. There will also be music, access to the dens where the floats are constructed, and specialty beads.

All of the floats will already be loaded with beads and throws, plus they will have their lights on and music playing. Some of the Krewe of Centaur floats even feature animatronic components, which you will be able to see much better at the Float Loading party than when the float is rolling by on the route.

Not to mention...the event is free to the public. So its a full night of great family fun to celebrate Mardi Gras in Shreveport-Bossier.

You can easily make it a full night too, because there will be multiple food trucks on hand as well. These trucks will have a wide-range of options for everyone as well. From tamales to donuts, and much more. Check out the food truck options for the Float Loading party here:
