The Krewe of Centaur Prepares for Grand Bal XXXIII in 2025

Mardi Gras season in Shreveport and Bossier City is already heating up.

You've probably seen memes online about what holiday most of the country thinks about after Christmas...where 49 states are thinking Valentine's Day, and Louisiana is highlighted in green, gold, and purple. Because we go straight from Christmas, to Mardi Gras. Most of us wouldn't have it any other way.

But in actuality, the Mardi Gras season is already underway. Local Krewes have held coronation events for this season's Royalty, and planning is deep on all of the local Mardi Gras Bal events.

Including the Krewe of Centaur, who will host Grand Bal XXXIII on Saturday, February 8th, 2025 at the Shreveport Convention Center.

If you're not familiar with a Mardi Gras Bal, you should really check one out. There are multiple Krewes in the Shreveport-Bossier area that host bal events every year. The Krewe of Centaur website defines a bal as an event where:

"...scenes representing a specific theme are acted out for the entertainment of club members and their guests, Krewe royalty is traditionally presented during the bal."

The largest Mardi Gras Bal in Shreveport-Bossier belongs to the Krewe of Centaur. In fact, its likely the largest Mardi Gras Bal event in North Louisiana. Which will celebrate year 33 this February in Downtown Shreveport.

The Krewe of Centaur Grand Bal XXXIII will be dubbed Icons in Toyland, and will the Mardi Gras Game Night you never knew you needed. It will take place on Saturday, February 8th, 2025 in Downtown Shreveport.

Tickets for the Krewe of Centaur Bal are on-sale now, and are an incredible value. Adult tickets to the Krewe of Centaur Bal come with access to an open bar (with a 21+ adult drink bar, and a non-alcoholic bar), dinner, and music from Bringing Life To The Party with Krystal "Chica" Montez. Not only that, but you get to see the main event, the Tableaux presentation.

The main purpose of the Krewe of Centaur Bal is to present this year's royalty in the most over-the-top way possible. You will see all of the royalty members presented, including big glitzy costumes, and those royalty members will ride around the room in their carts to toss throws to the crowd.

If you've never experienced a Krewe of Centaur Mardi Gras Bal, it's something you need to put on your Shreveport checklist. The costumes, throws, and stage presentation are all worth the price of admission, but getting open bar and dinner on top of that makes this a slam dunk night in Shreveport.

Also...this is a black tie/formal event. So it makes a perfect date night option for any couple.

One of the biggest misconceptions about the Krewe of Centaur Bal is people not realizing the event is open to the public. You don't have to be a member of Centaur, or any krewe to attend the event. You can grab your tickets and enjoy the event for any reason.

If you don't have a float to sit with, or won't be sitting at a royalty table, there is still a ton of general admission seating around the room. So you will have a seat at the Bal no matter what.
