Every year Townsquare Media Shreveport teams up with Operation Santa Claus to make Christmas happen for all the good boys and girls in our community. Saturday, December 14th is your last chance to help out.

According to the Shreveport Police website "Operation Santa Claus is a multi-agency, non-profit organization made up of law enforcement volunteers who sign up needy children to receive toys for Christmas. Operation Santa Claus is an officer-referred program. Once officers submit the names of deserving children, volunteers find the toys the children request, wrap them, and give them to the officers to deliver to those children in time for Christmas."

Every year we fill up our hallways at the radio station. Both the Shreveport Police and Fire Department work around the clock to collect, wrap, and distribute new toys. Calvin Baker, who we call Santa around the station is our point of contact. He orchestrates the wonderful event and informed us that we were really low on bike donations this year. Bikes are the number one requested gift from children in our community.

We need your help in collecting bikes. We will be at Walmart Supercenter in Shreveport on Youree and Bert Kouns from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 14th. Our goal is to collect as many bikes as possible for Operation Santa Claus. Just in case you're wondering what type of bikes we are looking for check out some on our wishlist below.
