Longview Weenie Dog Races Set for July 4th
The 4th of July just isn't the same without a few things: Fireworks, Flags, and hot dogs. I'm not talking about grilling frankfurters, I'm talking about the dashing dachshunds taking the field at this years Weenie Races held in conjunction with the City of Longview's 4th of July Fireworks and Freedom Celebration.
The winning wiener-dog will net it's human a crisp $100 bill, thanks to sponsor Creature Comforts Pet Resort. That's not the only extra-firework activity going on at the celebration, either. The event promises a fashion show featuring patriotic pup couture, some unique shopping, food, a carnival, live music, the puppy kissing booth, K-9 police demonstrations, prizes, and some sweet fur babies from the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center you could take home!
