In May of 2018, the Boy Scouts of America changed a major part of their organization.  For the first time their 108 history they allowed girls to join.  Since then, over 140,000 girls have joined their ranks.

Not only are these new scouts enjoying the knowledge handed down to their troupes, they're excelling!  In fact, Louisiana now has its first ever female Eagle Scouts!  If you were ever part of the organization, you know what an accomplishment that really is.  I myself only made it to the Webelo-level of scouting.  To become an Eagle Scout requires a level of dedication above and beyond what most people display during their time chasing badges.

According to BRProud and KPLC News: Louisiana's own Trinity Beer, Victoria Sherman, Kristen Darbonne, Emily Staggemeier, and Olivia Stewart are all part of the Boy Scout's of America's inaugural class of Eagle Scouts!

All of these girls had to earn an astounding 21 merit badges (some of which can take up to 3 months to complete) and complete a community service project to earn BSA's highest honor.  On Sunday night they were officially award the rank of Eagle Scout, but have yet to attend a "cording" ceremony where they receive the emblems of their rank (colored cords for their uniforms).
