Louisiana is the Most Stressed State in the Nation
If you feel like you've been burning the candle at both ends for a while and your nerves are a little shot, you're not alone. According to the latest report from Wallethub, Louisiana is one the most stressed-out state!
Using a handful of key metrics, like average hours worked per week, personal bankruptcy rate, and the share of adults getting adequate sleep - Wallethub ranked every state in the nation according to how stressed out their inhabitants are. Not only did the Bayou State grab the gold in this particular category, we came in 5th overall in highest number of average hours worked in a week and the percentage of adults in fair-to-poor health.
Arkansas came in at number 3, but laid-back Texas clocked in at 22. I'm not sure why folks in the Lone Star State are so much more relaxed than their neighbors, but even they look wound-tight compared to Minnesota. The Land of 10,000 Lakes came in dead last, and is the least-stressed state. Must be all the fishing.
