LSU has it's sights set at $1.5 Billion. Yes, that's billion, with a "b".

This is easily the largest educational fundraising effort in our great state's history, and if successful, we could see the impact right here in Shreveport. Granted, we will only see a small amount in comparison to the giant number listed above, but hey, we'll take it!

LSU is planning to use the funds for their entire LSU system, not just Baton Rouge. That means that if the fundraiser is successful, we'll see funds given to LSUS and LSU Health. $29 Million to be exact.

LSU Foundation spokesperson Sarah Whitaker listed all entities that will benefit from the joint fundraising.

“The Flagship campus in Baton Rouge, the LSU AgCenter, Pennington Biomedical Research Center, LSU of Alexandria, LSU Eunice, LSU Health New Orleans, LSU Shreveport, and LSU Health Shreveport.”

Of the $1.5 Billion, 60% will go towards education and 40% will go towards athletics.
