According to their Facebook Event Page and an awesome listener sharing the news with us, LSUS will be hosting an event today about and share awareness about sexual assault and harassment.

The event will touch on the currently trending hashtag #MeToo. The event is called #MeToo: The Outlier Readings. It will start at 11 a.m. and go on until 1 p.m at the University Center.

If you are unfamiliar with the #MeToo trend, it started after the Harvey Weinstein scandal came out where women and men shared their stories of sexual assault to show that sexual assault and harassment is more common than people realize.

They are encouraging others to come out to tell their story. If you don't want to do so in person you can submit your story here. The mission of the event is to "raise awareness, dispel victim stigma, and foster restorative justice for victims in our community" as stated on their Facebook event page.
