Marine Corporal Kyle Carpenter Tells His Astonishing Story of Recovery to David Letterman [VIDEO]
As the Mom of two U.S. Marines, this video makes me so emotional. It's the recent appearance of Corporal Kyle Carpenter on 'The David Letterman Show'.
Cpl Carpenter was just 19 when he was almost killed while serving in Afghanistan five years ago. He was critically injured in a grenade attack.
The Medal of Honor recipient went on Letterman to share his medical journey.
Cpl. Carpenter endured more than 40 surgeries and continues to go through therapy. Cpl. Carpenter was recently recognized as only the second living Marine to receive the highest military decoration since the Vietnam War- the Medal of Honor.
“I’m an overachiever,” joked Cpl. Carpenter during the Letterman interview.
