Brayden Ferrier and his family are headed to Walt Disney World for the trip of a lifetime!

Every year, the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show selects families all across the country for their annual Kidd's Kids trip. The kids chosen have special medical needs. The child and their family get an all expenses paid trip to Walt Disney World with the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show staff and the other families for an entire week. The trip was created by Kidd Kraddick, who passed away two years go. The rest of the cast still does the trip each year in his honor.

This year, Bossier City's Brayden Ferrier and his family have been selected.

Brayden is six years old and is a student at Elm Grove Elementary. He was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy before the age of one due to complications during birth. His mother, Taylor had to have an emergency C section.

Taylor, just 17 years old at the time, was told by doctors to prepare for the worst. Brayden wasn't expected to live through the night. He spent 14 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Willis Knighton South.

"After the first few days, we knew we had a fighter on our hands!"

Despite being behind on meeting typical milestones for a child, with the help of the Pediatric Outpatient Rehabilitation at W.K. South, Brayden has overcome every obstacle in his way. Taylor describes him as independent with the ability to light up any room that he walks into.

It was Taylor's mother who encouraged her to sign up for Kidds Kids. Not thinking they had any chance, she submitted an application.

"I honestly think all of the heart felt letters that were written really let them know Brayden."

The support for Brayden came in like a flood. Letters were written by his special ed teacher Michelle Boswell, his tee ball coach Lee at Bossier Dixie Little League, Sakura "Mimi" Hanna, Johnny "Pops" Hanna, Brayden's nine-year-old uncle Evan, and all of his speech, occupational and physical therapists.

With all of that love, how could he not be chosen?

Two grueling months went by before Taylor found a package on her front doorstep addressed to Brayden.

"Tears were rolling down my face before I even opened it! I sat there a minute to prepare myself for either outcome, but as soon as I read the first few words, I lost it! I was so extremely happy that I couldn't do anything else but CRY!"

Taylor immediately called both of Brayden's grandmothers. Normally a tear-filled phone call meant something bad happened to Brayden, but this time it was all good news.

To tell Brayden, the family surprised him with Mickey Mouse balloons and pajamas. The smile on his face says it all!

"He might not quite understand how special this is, but his family does and when he grows up and looks back I'm sure that he will be forever grateful for this opportunity."

The entire family is ecstatic for the opportunity to not only go to Disney World, but to spend some time together as a family without the normal everyday stresses. That's the whole goal of the trip is to give families like Brayden's an escape. Brayden is a fun kid who is fearless and doesn't stop until he achieves his goal.

"Brayden is my biggest blessing... It's an honor to be his mommy ❤"
