Minden has done it again. Another new business is officially opening its doors. Sara McDaniel, the mastermind behind Simply Southern Cottage, has started a massive movement in this small Northwest Louisiana town, and we love that she is one of the pioneers of bringing a community back into the limelight.

Now, a new store is set to quickly become a destination of its own: Welcome Purvéy Minden.

A New Destination for Downtown Minden

Purvéy Minden is set to become a treasure trove for anyone looking for unique home goods and stylish finds. The store will offer an eclectic mix of upscale vintage and re-loved clothing, vinyl, books, décor, and even plants.

Doesn't this sound like the most magical Saturday morning? Imagine starting your day by grabbing a coffee down the street at Brick Street Coffee, then heading over to browse through the latest finds at Purvéy.

The store is set to open at 10 AM on Friday, September 17th, at its location at 726 Broadway, Minden, Louisiana. Sara McDaniel, the founder of the store, has asked that shoppers be patient on opening day, as she expects the space to fill up quickly. "We learned at our soft opening that the space fills up VERY quickly," she said, adding that they will be "letting in about 10-12 people at a time."

McDaniel also asks that if there is a long line, shoppers "hop across the street and visit our friends at Parish Design Co., Hers Bridal and Special Occasions, J&K Trading Cards and Collectibles, OR the nation's OLDEST Western Auto." This kind of local-first approach is exactly what makes the Minden community so special.

The Minden Revival: Simply Southern Cottage's Impact

It’s no wonder Minden has fallen in love with Sara McDaniel. Her efforts to revitalize the town started with her Simply Southern Cottage project, where she took old, abandoned apartments and transformed them into the beautiful Villa at Spanish Courts.

Since then, she has brought other spaces to life, including her latest project, Phillips Cottage. In a tribute to her late father, Phillips Cottage is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides transitional housing for women and their children who have completed the Louisiana Teen Challenge program.

This new home won't be for sale, as it will continue her legacy of giving back to the community that has given her so much. It's this beautiful mix of business, community, and charity that makes Sara McDaniel a true pioneer and a beloved figure in Minden.
