The Shreveport Mubdugs are now just weeks away from kicking off their 2021 campaign.

Our boys won the NAHL National Championship just a couple of months ago, and now we're set to see if the 'Bugs can go back-to-back. If you know anything about Mudbugs hockey, you know that our team is more than capable of bringing the Robertson Cup back to Shreveport at the conclusion of this season. After all, in over two decades of Mudbugs Hockey, they've only missed the playoffs once, and I believe that was in 2001.

On September 24th and 25th, the Mudbugs will kick-off their season at home in an incredibly unique and awesome way. On the 24th and 25th, at 7:11 PM, the Mudbugs will take on USA's Developmental Team at George's Pond. Personally, I can't imagine a cooler way to start the season, than by the champions taking on team USA.

The Shreveport Mudbugs have something else very special for Mudbugs fan young and old. On Saturday, September 25th, The Shreveport Mudbugs are bringing back some of the most well-known players to ever wear a Mudbugs hockey uniform. The Alumni Game is back, and if it's anything like last time, fans absolutely do not want to miss it.

We're talking about famous Mudbugs from the original days in the 90's and into the 2000's. We'll see players back on the ice who also have their name and number hung in the rafters at George's Pond. We'll also see players come back home from the previous NAHL teams.

Simply put, the Alumni Game is pure nostalgia, and every Mudbugs fan in attendance will be in for the treat of a lifetime.

The Mudbugs have not announced the full roster yet, but once they do, I'll update this article. The Alumni Game will be played in the afternoon before the game against Team USA that night.
