The Shreveport Mudbugs are thick in the middle of their first playoff series of 2021.

The NAHL playoffs kicked off last weekend with the #1 seeded Shreveport Mudbugs taking on the Amarillo Bulls. If the regular season was any indication, the Mudbugs were heavily favored in this round one match-up. Things didn't get started on the right track, though, with the 'Bugs falling 4-1 in the opening game. Luckily for the 'Bugs, they were able to tie the series Saturday night. That game was less than one minute away from sending the Mudbugs into complete scramble mode, as losing the first two games would have been unexpected to say the very least. However, shortly before regulation ended, the Mudbugs tied the game and went on to win a few minutes into overtime.

Now, the series heads to Amarillo where the Mudbugs will play the Bulls both Thursday and Friday night. If the Mudbugs win both, they will move on and play in the second round. If they split the away games, they'll come back to Shreveport for a winner-take-all game on Sunday, May 30th.

Naturally, Mudbugs fans will be watching the games closely this week, and now, the team has partnered with one of our favorite places to make it easier for the fans to watch the action.

The Mudbugs have teamed up with Buffalo Wild Wings to host a watch party in Bossier City for their Thursday night game. No word yet on if and where a watch party will be held for Friday night's game.

The puck drops in Amarillo at 7:15 PM both nights.
