Whatever it is, it's delicious.

Am I the only one who has grown up thinking that stuffing and dressing are two different things? Truth be told, they are the exact same thing. Of course, some people may put different ingredients in their offering. In fact, I've seen dried cranberries incorporated one year at Friendsgiving. The basics are the same though. You've got bread, celery, onions, and chicken stock baked to golden-brown deliciousness.

But what do you call it?

Some believe that the difference lies in the cooking process. If you are roasting this dish inside of the turkey, then it is stuffing. It makes sense because it's "stuffed" inside the big bird. If you are simply baking this dish in a pan, then it's considered dressing. The name you use could also very well depend on where you live in the country.

So, I'm posing the question to you... Is it dressing or stuffing?

I call it stuffing because I stuff my face with it every single year. It's also a hearty dish and calling it something like "dressing" makes it feel like you should only have a dainty little scoop on your plate. There's nothing "dainty" about Thanksgiving.
