Parents Embracing the 4 Gift Rule This Christmas

Have you seen this new trend that has taken over Facebook? Could it be that the days of crazy spending on children at Christmas is coming to an end? A trend that has slowly gained popularity over the past few years is the "Four Gift Rule".

Parents commit to giving their kids just four presents.

The gifts are:

1. Something they want
2. Something they need
3. Something to wear
4. Something to read

Some people claim this is parents being stingy, other parents claim this is a sensible idea that needs to become a tradition. Several parents are concerned that their kids wouldn’t be okay with them receiving multiple gifts a year for Christmas and the number of presents be trimmed down to just 4 presents.
