PepsiCo Sued Over Naked Juice Not Being as Healthy as They Claim
According to Business Insider, A consumer-advocacy group called CSPI (Center for Science in the Public Interest) filed a lawsuit last Tuesday with PepsiCo because of how they market Naked Juice.
They say that PepsiCo advertises the drink as a "healthy alternative" even though it is not.
Its Pomegranate Blueberry juice, for example, accurately advertises that it is a no-sugar-added beverage, but even still a single 15.2-ounce container (the smallest option) contains 61 grams of sugar, about 50% more sugar than a 12-ounce can of Pepsi." -Kate Taylor, Business Insider
From what I can gather the class action lawsuit is asking that PepsiCo be more transparent with their advertising and also give 'award monetary damages to customers who have purchased Naked Juice beverages'.
Living Max Well says, "these products contained Archer Daniels Midland’s Fibersol-2 (explained as a corn fiber), fructooligosaccharides (alternative sweetner), other artificial ingredients, such as calcium pantothenate (synthetically produced from formaldehyde), and genetically-modified soy."
