The president will visit New Orleans to address the National Farm Bureau Federation's annual convention.

It's unclear if a solution will be found to the current federal government shutdown before President Trump boards Air Force One to come to Louisiana. He will be visiting Texas to tour the border on Thursday (Jan. 10).

Trump will address more than 7,000 attendees from across the country at the Farm Bureau convention, according to Judd Deere, a White House spokesman. He spoke to the convention last year in Nashville as well.

"This year will mark the federation's 100th annual convention and President Trump looks forward to touting positive impacts of the recently-signed (United States-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement) as well as the recently passed Farm Bill," Deere said in an email to The Advocate. "The President is committed to strengthening rural America and our Nation’s farmers."

The convention starts on Friday and runs through Wednesday in New Orleans.
