R. Kelly will finally have his day in court as a trial date has been set for April 27th, 2020.

According to CBS Chicago, one of Kelly's attorneys made the suggestion that there could be difficulty preparing for the trial due to the amount of evidence turned over by prosecutors and three pending trials in New York, Minnesota, and Chicago.

Attorney Mike Leonard one of Kelly's lawyers spoke about the case,

On the one hand, we’re trying to develop an overall strategy for all the cases, but we have to be responsive on each case to the judge’s deadlines in that particular case. So it kind of makes things difficult from a logistical standpoint.

The R&B singer is currently under indictment charges in Chicago with 13 felony counts including child pornography, enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity, and obstruction of justice.

The trial is scheduled to last three weeks and his next hearing is September 18th.
