Earlier this year, Shreveport was rocked at the news that Ratchet City rapper Hurricane Chris (Christopher Jerron Dooley) had been arrested after a shooting just outside of a convenience store on Hollywood on June 19th.  32-year-old Danzeria Ferris Jr. was shot multiple times early in that morning at the Texaco station located at the intersection of Hearne and Hollywood avenues.  He would not survive his injuries.

Earlier today, Dooley was indicted on 2nd degree murder charges in connection with the killing by a Caddo Parish grand jury.  The indictment also included a charge of illegal possession of a stolen vehicle, as he was found with the 2016 Mercedes sedan.  The ArkLaTex Homepage reports that this vehicle is one of the key elements of the case, and prosecutors believe it links him to the shooting.

In a sign of how violent Shreveport has been this year, Dooley's was just one of 5, 2nd degree murder indictments handed down by the grand jury today.   27 year-old DeMichael Antonio Turel,  21 year-old Don Lee Johnson of Arkansas, 25 year-old Antonio LaCedric Johnson, and 22 year-old Treyvious DeJuan Dotie were also indicted on separate 2nd degree murder charges for killings that have been committed in Shreveport this year.
