Shreveport rap star Hurricane Chris was arrested early June 19th on 2nd degree murder charges. Since the initial report, more details are begin to emerge about what exactly took place just after 1 am this morning in West Shreveport.

According to SPD, police were sent to the Texaco convenience store in the 2600 block of Hollywood Ave around 1 am this morning. The alleged shooter, 31 year old Christopher Dooley Jr aka Hurricane Chris, told police that he shot the victim in self defense following a struggle involving his vehicle.

However, according to investigators, security footage of the incident did not back up Dooley's claims. In addition, SDP discovered that the vehicle in question did not in fact belong to Dooley and was reported stolen out of Texas. After several interviews and reviewing the evidence, SPD booked Dooley on several charges including 1 count of second degree murder and 1 count possession of stolen things. This is an on going investigation and more charges could be added at a later time.
