Report: ‘Twin Peaks’ Revival in ‘Conversations’ for Sundance Event
We still don’t exactly know when in 2017 the new Twin Peaks will premiere, let alone when to expect a possible trailer or photos, but attendees of this year’s Sundance Film Festival may get a little of that fine coffee. Conversations are apparently taking place for Twin Peaks to have a presence at the event later on in January.
According to Deadline, “discussions” have occurred for the new season to begin pulling back the curtain at Sundance (January 19-29), though “It is unclear whether the talks will lead to a Twin Peaks event at Sundance, which, if it happens, could be a surprise screening, one of the signature features at the festival.” Showtime reportedly denied that Twin Peaks would be previewed at the event, though another source claimed “conversations are ongoing.”
Co-creator Mark Frost was also less accommodating:
Its premiere still vaguely eyed for the first half of 2017, new cast includes the likes of Monica Bellucci, Michael Cera, Tim Roth, Ghostbusters alum Ernie Hudson, Walking Dead star Josh McDermitt, and other musicians like Eddie Vedder (who contributes a song) and Trent Reznor. The full listing lies below:
Twin Peaks star Madchen Amick’s return is also set, alongside Dana Ashbrook, Sheryl Lee, Michael Horse, Sherilyn Fenn, Miguel Ferrer, David Patrick Kelly, Richard Beymer and fellow new additions Ashley Judd, James Belushi, Naomi Watts, Tom Sizemore, Laura Dern, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Peter Sarsgaard, Robert Knepper, Amanda Seyfried and Balthazar Getty.
Showtime may come forth with a real Twin Peaks announcement soon, but check out the first teasers below, while we wait.
