Reports Indicate WrestleMania 42 Will Be In New Orleans

Early into 2025 reports began to float around saying that New Orleans could be World Wrestling Entertainment's (WWE) host for their biggest show of the year, WrestleMania. The city has hosted the show twice in the past to great success both times, and new reports paint a bright picture for the wrestling fans of Louisiana.

Wrestling Fans Love NOLA

WWE has run its flagship show twice in the Superdome before, for WrestleMania XXX in 2014 and WrestleMania 34 in 2018. Both shows were received well by fans and received compliments from fans for the Bourbon Street and Mardi Gras influence that could be felt on each show.

Not only did wrestling fans love the shows but WWE and the City of New Orleans appreciated the economic impact the show has brought to the city in the past. Each time WrestleMania has been hosted in NOLA the economic impact to the economy has been north of $140 million.

So when rumors began to circulate early this year that New Orleans was being discussed internally at WWE as the city of choice for Mania, we paid close attention.

Rumors Turn to Reports

Typically WWE announces where the next Mania will be held during that year's show, but recently they've changed things up, announcing so at a press conference Super Bowl weekend. Well, this year plans again changed and there has yet to be an announcement, though reports already began that WWE and the City of New Orleans were in talks.

Sources like PWInsider also reported on word that people within the City had been in talks. That's where things remained until a report from WrestleVotes on Twitter that reaffirmed WWE will not be following the tradition of announcing the next Mania city at the show, but most importantly sources indicated to WrestleVotes that New Orleans will be the host city of WrestleMania 42.
