Should Willie Robertson Consider a Run For Louisiana Governor?
Though it was a completely informal poll, the results were astonishing. Not surprising, but certainly astonishing.
Yesterday, on Election Day, with most of the area suffering from political fatigue, we decided to lighten things somewhat with our own fictitious election.
As John Bel Edwards will be ineligible to run for re-election on November 18, 2023, we will obviously see a new Governor in the state of Louisiana.
So, keeping that in mind, we decided that we would hold that election yesterday morning and we allowed ourselves the privilege of hand selecting all the candidates for this hypothetical election.
To represent country music, Blake Shelton was named as one of our candidates. And since the new season of Yellowstone will premiere this Sunday, November 13, we decided that none other than Beth Dutton would also seek the governor's mansion.
Another candidate to be named was the new LSU Football head coach, Brian Kelly. Hey, when you beat Alabama in your first year at LSU, you've got a little stroke.
Our final candidate was Louisiana's own superstar of Duck Dynasty fame, the Willie Robertson.
So the stage was set. All our candidates were introduced and when the votes began to roll in, the ultimate winner was Willie Robertson, with an incredible 80 percent of all the votes.
This led us to believe that Robertson might have a legitimate shot at the Governor's seat. In the words of one of our listeners, "Willie is unapologetic about his faith and his beliefs and not afraid to speak his mind, whether or not that hurts people's feelings. He wouldn't make a good politician because of that. And what's why he would be the right man. We don't need another politician in Louisiana right now."
Hey Willie, you seeing this? You might be able to help the whole state. Maybe this is something you should consider.
