Shreveport Bank Robbery Suspect CAPTURED
Shreveport Police announced Wednesday morning that the suspect in the robbery of the Red River Bank in the 600 block of Market Street in Shreveport on Monday, April 17th, has been captured.
Robert Garner, (Jan 22, 1970) was arrested Wednesday, April 19th, 2023 by Shreveport Police. Garner is accused of entering the Red River Bank on Market Street and producing a suspected weapon while demanding money. The suspect then fled from the bank after receiving an undisclosed amount of money.
Shreveport Police received a tip on Wednesday morning from Crimestoppers of Garner's location. The Shreveport Police Tactical Robbery Unit located Garner at Airport Park and was able to capture and make the arrest around 10A Wednesday morning.
Corporal Chris Bordelon told KEEL News Garner was charged with 1st Degree Robbery. 1st Degree Robbery is where the suspect produces a weapon, or the victim is led to believe a weapon is involved.
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
